Christine’s Woods

Christine’s Woods is an interesting spot near the creek that is a remnant of the creek’s historic floodplain. The site consists of a cypress slough that has been home to a great blue heron rookery for a number of years. There are a number of uncommon and rare plant species that can be found at this location. At this point in time visitors are encouraged to come along on one of our field trips the first time you visit this site so that you have a better understanding of the lay of the land before you visit on your own.

There are no regularly maintained trails at this location and there is prevalent poison ivy in some spots.
